Heroes

From CrossFit 480 (Legacy)

Design

A black crew neck printed in blue on the front and in red, white and blue on the back. "480" fills the chest in heavy, rounded numerals with a speckled texture, and "CROSSFIT" runs on a slant through the slash of the 0. "EST. 2011" sits beneath in black capitals cut out of a blue bar. The upper back carries an American flag standing on end, with the field of white stars at the top left. Its stripes are columns of blocky capitals alternating red and white, and each word is the name of a Hero workout.

Coach’s Comments

CrossFit caught on in the mid-2000s with the military and first responder communities. Their lines of work are physically demanding and truly represent what Greg Glassman called "the unknown and the unknowable." The workouts given the name of a fallen servicemember or first responder are intended to be challenging. A true gut check that forces athletes to dig deeper to finish than they usually do. This shirt lists 22 Heroes but honors every person who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
