Trample The Weak

From Valley CrossFit

Catchphrase

“Trample the weak. Hurdle the dead.”

Design

A charcoal heather crew neck printed in red and white ink. "VALLEY CROSSFIT" runs across the chest in distressed red block capitals, with "LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA" in small white type beneath. The lettering sits on a gray halftone band and overlaps a large white outlined star to the right. The wordmark comes from an earlier era of the gym's branding, before the current logo with its red V chevron. The back reads "TRAMPLE THE WEAK HURDLE THE DEAD" in four stacked lines. White and red alternate, so "WEAK" and "DEAD" stand out.

Coach’s Comments

Valley CrossFit opened its doors in 2005, when CrossFit was still very much a decentralized fringe movement, spreading through garage gyms and unified by the mainsite comment section. This shirt is a holdover from the early "mess you up" days. In fact, Greg Glassman included the phrase in the post for one of the very first CrossFit workouts (010226). The methodology, the gyms and the athletes offer no apology for who they are and what they are about. CrossFit is for anyone, but it's not for everyone.
